I hate when you miss the answer! I'm sure it's a couple of days at the most! worry more about watermelon seeds + dirt swallowed when you were a kid!
Just as long as anything else, why?
7 years.it is har to digest.
not really sure but ive heard by my teachers that its stays for 7 years.but i still swallow like 3 gums a day.lol
There is an "Old Wives" tale that says that swallowed chewing-gum would strangle the intestines. Don't believe "Old Wives" - no harm will come to you. The gum will dissolve like everything else edible you eat.
Swallowed gum will take longer to digest than a sandwich. The stomach does not digest the gum ,it just passes through your system in a day or two. Your stomach is very acidic that will disslove the gum, which is another reason it will not stay forever in your stomach. Your stomach has a pH of 1-3. pH is a measure of the hydrogen ion concentration. An acid is a hydrogen ion or a proton donor. Even though chewing gum's base is indigestable it does no harm if you swallow it.
7 Years.
It is not known to cause any real harm. The process will slide it out. However, be ready to give yourself a helpling hand if it is not crossing the last gate!
Gum is indigestible. How ever 7 years is a myth. The gum passes out with the rest of the roughage.
