is correct your teeth also considered plastic surgery?

Question: my 2 set of teeth dont align with each other..my top row is jutting out but not too obvious..so i went to the dentist my school reccommended n the dentist said that they have to do surgery (as in i have to wear braces for a few months n then do surgery to correct my jaw. they have to detach my jaw to align it back)..my parents n frens advise me not to do it but i really feel like doin it eventhough i'm freaking scared..but i'm muslim so plastic surgery is not advisable..so is this op considered plastic surgery?

My view is that this is changing the way you look, so it might be considered plastic surgery. THEN AGAIN, since you have a functional defect, it could also be considered corrective surgery. Choose which interpretation you prefer.
