About Spacers?

Question:
You know spacers that you have to get on your teeth? I am getting them next week. Do they hurt? What are they? Please something fill me in on this!

Answers:
Spacers are used, mostly in conjunction with braces, to widen a narrow jaw. They may not hurt right away, but the next day and any time they are tightened thereafter will probably hurt. I'd take Motrin as a precaution.

Other Answers:
It's been a long time since I had braces, but if I remember right they're like little rubber bands they stick between your teeth. They do make your gums a little sore because they're moving you teeth apart but it's not too bad.
They're like little rubber bands that go betwen your teeth to prep them for braces. They are a bit uncomfortable at first, but you get used to them. It only takes a second to put them on and take them off.
They will hurt, badly, but after 3 days it'll get a little better. Once you get braces on though, you'll only know pain for 7 days. You've been warned, meditate to prepare for pain endurance. DO NOT TRY TO EAT ANYTHING HARDER THEN YOUR EAR LOBE.
Spacers aren't terrible, as far as pain goes, they're just annoying. It feels like you have a piece of food stuck in your teeth. You will only have to wear them a short time, and after a few days you'll forget that you have them in. If you have any discomfort, take 1 advil and 1 tylenol. The two put together make the best painkiller.
When you first get spacers, it will hurt for the first couple of days and you probably won't feel like eating anything. When I got spacers, my teeth really hurt and I could barely chew on anything. But I got used to them. When you go in to get your braces, thats when they take them out. I was so happy when they were out! The spacers between your molars hurt at first, but it will be worth it. I had my braces on for a year today. :)
NO, I GOT THEM YESTERDAY. THEY DONT HURT WHEN YOU FIRST GET THEM. BUT AFTER A WHILE IT MIGHT MAKE YOUR HEAD HURT. JUST TAKE ADVIL OR SOMETHING. THEY ARE USUALLY PUT BETWEEN YOUR BACK TEETH TO MAKE SPACE FOR BRACES. THEY KINDA FLOSS THE RUBBERBANDS IN. AFTER A WHILE IT'S JUST LIKE FOOD STUCK BETWEEN YOUR TEETH.
