Tooth pulled 2 weeks ago and now my gum area is sore?

Question:
I've been extra careful about my dental hygiene since getting a back tooth pulled two weeks ago. But I noticed that the area is sore and was bleeding a lot last night when I brushed my teeth. Is this normal? And is rinsing with mouthwash enough to clean it out?

Answers:
now that it has been 2 weeks and the area is healing, you need to brush the area gently. debris and plague are building up back there and rinsing doesn't dislodge it all.

it will stop bleeding when all the bacteria has been removed by brushing just like any area in your mouth- it may take a few days.

Other Answers:
try not to brush back there. rinse with mouth wash so that it doesnt get infected. bleeding may be caused by you brushing it too hard.
i think its normal to be sore. are you taking medicin for it? pain killers? well i would know what to say. if you dont see your dentist soon the whole might close up.
