What medication is used to settled you when have a tooth out?

I have to go to hospital to hold a broken wisdom tooth out and was told I would be sedated but not beside actual general anesthetic. Does anyone know what they use and how 'away with the fairies' you become as I am bricking it!

MY TOUNGE! JeSUS HELP ME?

When I worked for an oral surgeon back within the 80's they used a drug called Brevital for office procedures. If you are going to the operating room, where on earth I work now, there are drugs such as Versed (sedative), Propofol (amnesiac) and Fentanyl (narcotic for pain) that they use for plentiful procedures not requiring general anesthesia. I had two tradition teeth taken out about two years ago, at the same time. The medication be of a "Local" nature and i can honestly say, appendage on heart that i felt no pain whatsoever.
Don't verbs, anaesthetics have come a long way since i first have to see a Dentist!

I hang on to wake up biting my tongue, why?

I think very pious answer given by our two friends, Freebird and Edie, so take benefit of them. I think they enjoy given you very good guidance. God and the Dentist alone know. They dont divulgethe type of sedation. One small prick, and then there is no niggle, no feeling.

I hold an appt next to a oral surgeon today?
