Wisdom teeth, is this normal?

Question:
I had my wisdom teeth taken out 2 weeks ago on Thursday. I was sitting here talking on the phone tonight and all of a sudden the gums where one of my wisdom teeth were taken out started bleeding again. It hasn't bled since the day of (or maybe the day after) they were taken out. I didn't eat anything hard, nor did i do anything to bump it or make it start bleeding. I have been suffering from dry sockets on both bottom teeth, but each time i have seen the dentist, they have said that the top (where it is now bleeding) looks great and is healthy. Is this normal?

Answers:
Yes, it might have been swollen and you bit on it.

Complete healing of wisdom teeth extraction takes about 3 months.
I don't know that I'd call it "normal," but unless you are really bleeding heavily, or if it's not showing any signs of stopping, I honestly wouldn't worry about it. If the wound is closing otherwise, it may simply be that the incision was made close to a comparatively large vein - not huge, just not a capillary - and it's bleeding more easily because of its size.

If it's heavy bleeding, then of course you need to contact your dentist/oral surgeon.
