My gum behind my left bottom molar is sore and swollen. Could I be getting a new tooth?

Question:
I am 24 years old and have had my wisdom teeth removed.

Answers:
It seems unlikely that you are since you had your wisdom teeth removed. It is more likely that you have or had something caught in the area. Most people forget to floss behind the back of the last tooth and it can easily catch a seed or popcorn kernel that will cause the area to get inflammed. Floss and brush the area well (2-3 times a day) and rinse with some salt water, listerine or crest pro health (no alcohol) and it should resolve. Good luck!

No, once they're gone, they're gone. You could just have some food like popcorn or a chip stuck in there and it's getting inflamed. - that's happened with me...ewww :) Try flossing. Hope that helps.
i dont think so. the last teeth to come in though common not to get them is your 13yr molars. which are called 13 yr molars because they typically come in at this age.
No, that's extremely unlikely. But I'll tell you what, I've never had wisdom teeth and luckily I'm not going to get any (there's nothing growing there, same thing happened to both my parents) but sometimes the gum behind my molars gets sore as well.

I saw a dentist for this once and he said that sometimes it just happens and that it is harmless but I could get surgery to remove some of the tissue. Of course I said no, why bother. It comes and goes every few months. Of course if it persists for more than 2 weeks go see your dentist to get it checked out.
