What happens during oral surgery?
Question:
Answers:
Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years. This is simple. I just numb your gum and tooth, wait and gently remove the over retained baby tooth. You will NOT feel a thing. In fact you will probably say, "That's it". Yes, that is it. If you have any other questions, please ask. Marie
when i had oral surgery to have my wisdom teeth taken out i was knocked out so i dont remember any of my surgery except to this day i still have one of my wisdom teeth as a souveniour. hope this helps like i said it all depends if you are going to be knocked out or not
I worked in an oral surgery office and this is how it went there.
You come back to the room and sit in the chair and we hooked you up to monitors
We then gave you an IV with medicine to relax you followed by medicine to put you asleep
Once asleep, a team removes your tooth/teeth. It usually is a rather fast procedure.
We then begin to say your name to wake you up.
Once you are awake we called your parent/guardian back while you recovered.
Within a half an hour to an hour you were sent home.
That day you need to take it easy and then you are usually back in business.
