I'm getting my Wisdom Teeth removed!!?

First, don't sweat it. I had mine taken out like last month and I really worried over nothing. The nurses will make you feel really comfortable and it's a really short surgery. The first day will be the worst (although its not bad at ALL). Stick to soft foods, like ice cream and applesauce. Be sure to not use a straw for about 2 weeks. Also, have a parent stop at the store and buy you a baby tooth brush. This is my own tip and I found it to be a lot easier for brushing my teeth the next day. The first day you can't brush your teeth. Other than that, its really basic and you'll be fine. The doctor has some anti-biotics that you will be taking also. And about during the surgery, you won't remember anything. Good luck, I KNOW everything will be fine. Heck, I even got through it WITHOUT the pain medication they gave me!
If it was like mine, they put me to sleep. I didn't feel anything until the third day afterwards and I was in pain but my doc gave me hydro 10's. But I don't take stuff like that so I just took some motrin and I was fine. It hurt for 2 days and then afterthat I was fine.
I think you will probably be asleep. It seems like it takes no time at all. I had my wisdom teeth removed all at once about 20 years ago and I just had Novocaine and gas. It wasn't that great. A few months ago I had another back tooth pulled and they put me out like a light . It was great! You will be sore after but take Motrin and follow the aftercare instructions. They will make sure you are comfortable during the procedure I'm sure. They will give you something to calm you down.(they gave me an IV with valium). Good luck and try not to worry!
It hurts when the pain medication wears off. The three that are out won't hurt that bad. It depends on how easy they come out. I had one that was impacted and it hurt quite a bit. The dentist will tell you to rinse out your mouth with salt water every so often.
Follow his directions and you will be back to normal in no time.
I have had mine taken out. I won't lie to you it hurt. Not when they were doing it but after because I tried to not take the pain killers they gave me. Please follow the dentists instructions for pain management, that will make all the difference. If you don't, you will regret it.
Don't be nervous. It really didn't hurt while it was being done. If I had taken the medicine that he gave me I would have been fine and once I did actually take the medicine I was fine.
No sucking motions after for a while though, like smoking or drinking through a straw, that can cause a dry socket. Just follow the instructions and you will be fine.
When I was in my early twenties I had both my wisdom teeth taken out at the bottom of my mouth. I was terrified to be honest!! But I was sedated and frankly I went straight to sleep and had to be woken up. They give another sedative to knock you out until way after the operation is over with. They also numb your gums before extracting so pain is not felt at all during the procedure or indeed for a while afterwards. You will be given painkillers and antibiotics too for maybe a week afterwards. Basically, don't worry - mine was a very comfortable and positive experience and my gums had to be cut to remove the teeth because they were severely tilting onto my other teeth.
Please don't worry. You will need someone to take you home afterwards though and probably will just sleep for a while afterwards too.
Take care and I wish you a speedy recovery xxxx
If they are the same as the premolars then it hurts like hell, i had no damn surgery, i had some almost useless anesthesia i had five shots of it and i still felt all the things, the bleeding stopped after 6 hours, i hope you get a better treatment.
Don't worry about it, I had mine removed too and you don't feel a thing just a little pinch. It happens really fast, I think it takes longer to let the numbness get to you then the actual removal of the teeth. Yeah, at first you do get all nervous and scared, but just start thinking about something else, sing out loud in your mind if that helps, then as soon as you know it, bye bye wisdom teeth. Nothing to be worried about, almost everybody gets them removed, so don't sweat it everything will be fine and they will give you pills after for you to take.
I had mine out and it didn't hurt. They will give you pain medicine, be sure to take it around the clock for a few days. Don't wait for the pain to start because it will take longer to get it under control.
Most likely you will be asleep during the procedure. If you are awake, the sedative might have an amnesia effect. (you won't remember).
I have heard horror stories, but I can honestly say it was not bad at all. One of mine was impacted (you couldn't see it) too. Don't worry.
With me, they took me in a room with equipment in it. I layed down, they started an IV and put medicine in and then told me I would become very drowsy. I even made a comment like, "Man, you are not joking!" and then I remember them telling me to get up cause it was over and I was ready to go home. I don't even remember putting my jacket on.
I had all 4 of mine pulled and also the ones beside them so that was a total of 8 teeth because when they grew out they were sideways and they cracked the teeth beside them all the way to the roots. So i was in terrible pain. I was in more pain before the surgery than after. I was sedated but awake, I was aware of everything that was going on. It did hurt afterwards a little but the pain pills helped. I dont think you have anything to worry about. I didnt feel anything when they were pulling them but it took a long time because of the way that they had grown in all I could feel was the pressure from them pulling and twisting but no pain. You will be fine!
well i dont know how bad but dont think about that when i got my teeth drilled they put my on meds and i was still awake but i took a nap you do the same!good luck!:)
