To adults who used to have braces only?

I had braces for over 6 years, and while they tore up the inside of my mouth pretty badly for a while, the only physical reminder I have left of braces is straight teeth. The only thing that was ever effected was the inside of my mouth. If they're scraping you up too badly you should go and tell your orthodontist and ask him if he can fix that.
some scraping is unavoidable though. They give you wax that you can put over your braces, that became a life saver for me. For the areas that I didnt use wax, the skin just callused over and it stopped hurting. Some areas I couldnt use wax because it wouldnt stick properly. But, as with everything, you will get used to them.
I still have a couple that I can feel with my toungue, but to my knowledge they're not visible. They no longer hurt. I don't even think about them anymore.
No, the little scrapes on your gums will go away very shortly. To prevent this I suggest you use dental wax, put it on the sharp parts on your braces to prevent your braces from scraping up your braces. This will make your gums feel better. Trust me I have had braces for 3 years and when this situation happened to me, I did what I told you and it worked like a charm!
if the scar is small it will heal
ps why dint u use wax
Your dentist should have given you dental wax. That's the thing that saved me.
I'm glad the braces are off. (any my teeth are straight)
I still have two little scars on the inside of my cheeks that were a result of my braces. No one can see them and I really hardly ever notice they are there. Start using wax now, it will help. I know it is hard to go around as an adult, trying to work and be professional with wax on your teeth, but try and use it as much as you can.
I think, however, that these little scars are a very small price to pay for having perfectly straight teeth. I wouldn't change them.
