For me, I was able to eat anything a few hours after the operation. I just had to do so very carefully. The next day I was fine. I suppose it may vary from person to person.
You can eat soft foods like pudding, jello. But be carefull of dry sockets
How about some Malt O Meal? Or how about some juice. That is very nourishing. Cous cous is also very soft. Maybe custard?
HI,
THERE ARE MANY FOODS YOU CAN ALSO EAT, BUT STAY AWAY FROM EATING CRUCHY FOODS THAT NEED CHWING AS CHIPS,PEANUTS OR POPCORN, TO NAME A FEW.
THE IMPORTANT THING IS AVOID FOOD FROM GETTING STUCK IN THE HEALING SOCKETS.
Actually, stay away from anything warm/hot the first couple of days after the removal of your teeth. So no soup for you immediately after the surgery. Acidic food like apple sauce could also irritate your wounds even a couple of days after the surgery. Don't drink anything fruity like orange juice for awhile. Personally, I lived off of pudding and slim fast shakes right after I had my wisdom teeth removed--I didn't want to have regular milkshakes because those have a lot of calories.
A few days after the surgery, you'll be able to add some other things like soup to your list. Oatmeal and cream of wheat will also be a good options a little while after the surgery, but of course those are warm foods. Ice cream might be too cold for you initially, but you can eat that later on too. You'll be able to eat pasta, and you'll probably be handle acidic things like spaghetti (with the tomato sauce) like three days after the surgery. I also had some macaroni.
