Anyone have amalgam (silver filling) removed?
Question:
Any problems? Is there a dentist onboard?
Thanks for any input
Answers:
I haven't had one removed, but I assume there would be a dentist actually doing it with a hygienist or assistant standing by.
I just wanted to leave an answer because you remind me of my Maw-Maw and I miss her so dearly.

I've had a few replaced, and honestly, I hate the new fillings..It seems like my teeth where it was replaced is more sensitive now.I hate it.

there are a lot of dentists who replace them. just talk to your general dentist. there is a lot of contraversy over where it is good for your health to replace or not. opions vary greatly.
Yes and it is not that hard of a procedure...actually, it is pretty common as dentistry has evolve into the aethetics of the tooth. Also, the new technology will make the fillings last much longer, which means the dreaded root canal or bridges may not come into play.
PERSONALLY,
I'VE REPLACED THOSE WHICH ARE MALFUNCTIONAL FOR MY PATIENTS, BUT I'VE ALSO LEFT MANY AMALGAMS ALONE. IF THEY WERE CORRECTLY PLACED AND THEY ARE IN GOOD SHAPE -- LEAVE THEM ALONE.
I never had it removed, Good question. Why would you want to remove it? Would seem to be painful.
