Baking soda to whiten teeth?

Question:
2 questions.

1. what happens if i use baking soda everyday? it says to use once every few days.

2.i have braces, will teh baking soda affect them?

Answers:
My dentist recommends the following daily routine:

1. Rinse with a solution such as Plax, which is designed to use before brushing your teeth.
2. Brush your teeth as usual.
3. Brush with baking soda, making sure to use new baking soda once it dissolves in your mouth.
4. Rinse out mouth with water.
5. Floss

I usually do the Plax and baking soda once a day, usually in the mornings. Baking soda will not harm your teeth. Actually, many of the teeth whitening toothpastes out there have baking soda in them.

As for the braces, I don't believe it will harm them, but you may want to check with your orthodontist first.

Good luck!
its not good 2 use everyday!
an easier way is to get the pre wash whitening wash and the after mouthwash after you brush mouthwash from CREST.
Eat strawberries. they have a natural whitener in them. If you cant eat them, blend them up...it makes a delicious shake!
I do it nearly everyday. (With peroxide) and I never got hurt. It just says that's the required amount to whiten teeth. To answer your next question, I would really wait until you get your braces off. You wouldn't want that to ruin your soon to be perfect smile.
Arm and Hammer makes several different types of tooth whitening toothpastes containing baking soda which are safe enough to use everyday (even on braces).
