Do i need a crown?
Question:

I'm not sure why you would need a crown. A simple filling should work. But only a dentist can tell you what you need to do about your tooth.
To be brutally honest, nobody but a dentist is going to be able to help you here. We can't see it. Sounds like you might, I've had 7 myself, but it doesn't matter what answer anybody posts here. Go see a dentist -- you're in pain.
As the other people said, with out seeing it, it's hard to tell. From what you're saying, however, it sounds like a simple occlusal cavity. And yes, a simple filling should take care of it. In the middle of our molars we have pits and fissures where the cusps join together. That is the most common place to get a cavity.
Go see your dentist and he/she will be able to tell you for sure.
First of all you need to see a dentist and have him remove all of the decay that is in the tooth. You are going to probably need a root canal done. Even though you are not having constant pain from the tooth right now if you don't have it taken care of it will start to bother you all the time. The tooth is giving you a warning when it gives you that terrible jolt. I had the same thing happen and I ended up needing a root canal. After having the root canal done you need to have a crown done as well.
