Help! The Dentist!?

Question:
I need to go to the dentist next week, and I'm so nervous! I really can't stand it, especially the drill. Lately, when I've been brushing my teeth, I found that all of my teeth are a bit yellowish-brownish (I mean, they're not all bright white). I was wondering if they could all be cavities, even though I think that's not possible as I brush my teeth regulary every single day and I've been to the dentist just about 8 month ago. Please give me advice on how to relax at the dentist, and also, about my teeth.

Answers:
take a ipod with you. you wont hear the drill, the yellow is just dirty if you dont want yellow teeth use whitening tooth paste and stay away from smoking tea coffee.. and grow up , its not that bad! my 7 year old daughter LOVES the dentist if it was up to her she would go everyday.
Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years. Relax. And listen. Dentistry is almost totally painless. If you had a check up 8 months ago and brush everyday, your teeth are probably just stained or this may be their natural color. Not everyone has bright white teeth. If you have a concern over the color, speak to the dentist and ask h/her about 1) whitening strips, or a 15 minute quick bleach in his office. For teens coming off braces I offer them a free mini-bleach if they need it and have their parents permission.
Next, ask you dentist for a fluoride rinse that you use ONLY at night. This will reduce any changes of cavities to almost ZERO if you brush and floss everyday as well.
Now bring an iPod, it you do not have one, ask the dentist if they have a head set. I do. People bring CD's or whatever. I also have a TV hanging from the ceiling with all cable and a video. So most kids watch the Wiggles or Dora. By the time I'm done, they don't even remember I started. If you have any other questions, please ask. PS, I also have teddy bears and puppets. Mostly the adults hold them LOL. Marie
