I think i had braces when i was 12. they only hurt the first week and neve hurt until i got rubberbands then they hurt for another week and never hurt again if i member right.
I was 10, and I got them off when I was almost 12. It doesn't hurt as bad as you think, trust me. It would only hurt occasionally, when they would over-tighten the chains after a visit. Good luck, and don't worry! :)
i just got mine in june i need to get jaw surgery so they had to wait until my jaw was done growing but im 16 and i get them off next summer and i had to get my molars out so they had room for my surgery to do stuff but it didnt hurt for me that bad i just couldnt eat hard stuff for a week and they were a little sore for like 2 weeks for me it really sucked putting them on let me tell you but hey you get to choose the colors
Palital expander at 8, Braces at 9, Retainer at 10, Nothing at 11, Palital expander again at 12, Braces again at 13, Retainer at 14. It sucks.
I was about 11 or 12 when I got braces and wore them for about 2 years. They were a bit uncomfortable when they were first put on, but they feel fine after about one or two days.
I was 12 or 13 when I got the. Ya they hurt I won't lie, but you get used to it as your teeth start straightening. Also it hurts when you get them tightened, but it's all worth it to have straight teeth! And be sure you brush your teeth really good. I ended up with alot of cavities from stuff getting caked in behind the braces. But g'luck and like I said it's all worth it to have straight teeth! : D
14-16. Having the braces put on didn't hurt that much but it took a couple weeks to get used to. If you get separaters for your teeth before the braces are put on, then that might hurt just a little. I cant really remember so it couldnt've been that bad.
i'm about to get mine too. i'm nervous but i'm sure everything will be fine. just remeber that the orthodontics know what their doing :)
11. It was too young. Teeth are mostly straight but when the wisdom teeth grew in they crowded the bottom.
You should not get braces until all your baby teeth have fallen out.
I had 4 permanent teeth pulled when i was 11 and got the braces put on a few months later. Got them off at 14 and then i had a retainer for a year. Compared to getting the teeth pulled, the braces felt like nothing.

I have had them on 2 times. First time I was 11 and only had 4 braces on bottom front teeth. They wanted to do phase 2 shortly after and include some head gear/ palette stretcher thing And I said heck no. So I waited and got them on again full top and bottom this time at the age of 26. I have to say they have hurt more this time around plus I had to get all 4 impacted wisdoms and all 4 first molars pulled out so there would be room for my teeth to be straightened. Mind you I did this all at one time plus they put a bite plate behind my 2 upper front teeth and could not chew (my teeth did not touch at all) I lost 15lbs from it. What a nightmare the beginning was, but now I am 29 and the braces are coming off August 23rd this year woohoo. I wish I would have done this in my younger years though it didn't seem to hurt as bad and the discomfort that was there didn't last as long. Sensodyne toothpaste along with ibuprofen work wonders. Just make sure the toothpaste is non whitening because they make your teeth more sensitive. Warm salt water rinses are good too. Yeah there a pain sometimes but in the end it's so worth it!!!
