Strange tooth pain?

Question:
For the last couple of days I've had this strange pain in my upper front teeth that I can not explain. I've been to the dentist for a check-up about a couple of months ago and there were no cavaties. It doesn't seem to be a sesativity thing because nothing seems to make it any worse or better. In other words, it doesn't matter if I'm eating, drinking something hot or cold, or just sitting there with my mouth closed not doing anything - the pain is there. It's not unbearable but it is noticable and annoying. What could it be??

Answers:
Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years and without an xray of the tooth it is too hard to be certain. I would have to ask you several questions. Did you ever hit that tooth as a child or any other time in the past? It is possible the nerve was traumatized and only now is letting you know it is unhappy. The dentist could take a tiny tiny layer off the edge to see if he takes it out of occulsion that makes it stop. He can do this on the bottom tooth as well and you will never be able to see it. That's the first thing I would do. The second it to make sure there is not area(dark shadow) around the tooth or the very root tip. Some times the nerve at the apex (tip of the root) can begin to die and that will start the process of a constant pain in the tooth. A fluoride gel at bedtime will help strenghten the tooth and perhaps that will help as well. Without seeing your mouth and an x-ray this is the best I can do. I wish I had an x-ray could then I could better help you. Good luck, call the dentist and get an xray done and a bite check. Marie
well that happened to me a couple of months ago. if ur wisdom teeth haven't grown in, they could be growing now. the thing is it could be growing straight out ur gum like normal or u could have an impacted wisdom tooth. which means the tooth is growing on its side pushing the rest of ur teeth forward, causing them pain. Go get another check up.
good luck feel better
did your dentist take an x-ray? if he did and nothing seems wrong then you should get a teeth cleaning or deep cleaning. if your dentist didn't take an x-ray then you should ask him/her to do it just in case your dentist might have missed something because you can't always see cavities from the outside, more often than not it starts from within. if you smoke there might be black stains between your teeth and that might be the uncomfortable sensation you're feeling. so a good cleaning will help alleviate the problem.
Are you also stuffed up at all? It could be a sinus infection. I have had this happen twice and that is what it was. I was just a little stuffed up so at first I didn't think that was it.
See if your cheek area is also tender.
It could be a reaction to the meds you took for your illness, take some painkillers for awhile and wait it out. If it's not a serious dental problem you should just be able to wait it out that way. : ) Good luck!
Its possible that your gums are sore
Or maybe you just got something stuck in your teeth
