Put ice on the area (not on the spot itself, but on the jaw/cheek near it) and don't lie down if you can avoid it, because that will make it hurt and swell up more, plus you risk blood going down your throat. (If you aren't usually comfortable sleeping sitting up, try sitting on the most comfortable couch at your house and putting lots of pillows around your body so you don't fall over while you're asleep.) If you're going to take anything for the pain, take Tylenol, as Advil increases your bloodflow and will make you bleed more. Don't worry, problems inside your mouth heal very quickly, and you'll be feeling better before you know it.
PUT ICE ON IT, WRAPPED IN A PIECE OF CLOTH MAYBE 15 20 MINUTES, REST AND DO IT AGAIN, A FEW TIMES. DO NOT PUT HEAT, YOU WILL BLEED/
lots of ice. rinse your mouth to prevent infection and apply ice, 15 mins on 15 mins off.
rinse your mouth with salt mixed in warm water and apply ice.
Definately ice your face/jaw. The difference is remarkable. And try not to lay completely horizontal. Prop yourself up with lotsa pillows.
