yes, a TMJ dysfunction or a bad tooth with large infection/abscess can cause the symptom you are describing. So if your medical doctor gave you antibiotics it wouldn't hurt to start taking it. Motrin can help to cut down your swelling if you have one. Call and visit your dentist as soon as you can to have a complete exam.
