Does Hydroden Peroxide and Baking soda paste have harmful side effects?

Question:
Um... a lot of teeth whitening methods wear away the enamel which causes a lot of harmful effects as one grows older. Does a mix of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide paste harmful the enamel? I have heard that baking soda is damaging as well as peroxide. If not, then assuming a 3% peroxide solution and baking soda used for cooking. what amounts would be most effective?

Answers:
Just rub very gently.
yeah my dad uses that all time and it works for him
YES!!!!!!!
My dental hygienist suggested that I brush with equal amounts baking soda and 3% peroxide twice a day- it's safe and it works great!
not really but hydrogen peroxide can cause what's deemed "hairy tongue" and it literally looks like you have a hairy tongue. the reason is that it removes all the good bacteria or normal flora out of your mouth and allows yeast to grow. if you have hairy tongue, discontinue for a few days and eat yogurt and drink buttermilk, these have active cultures that promote the growth of the normal flora. neither are really damaging compared to whitening pastes. just use enough to make a pea size amount on the brush.
