My dentist pulled out the wrong tooth, what can I do?

Question:
There was a paper that said he should pull out number 21, but then he pulled number 12. I just needed one tooth pulled for braces, and I have a gap between my 2 front teeth, so if I pulled a tooth on the top, where number 12 used to be, then the gap would be even bigger. Everyone in their office always sings and talks to each other when the are fixing people's teeth. And my mom is allergic to penicillin and after she told the dentist like a million times he still prescribed it to her. My mom went to the dentist and told them that the pulled out the wrong tooth but all the said was sorry. Can I sue them? And if I can how much?

Answers:
If it is indeed negligence and you can prove it, then yes, you MOM may have a case, not you as a minor. Also, remember that perception is different than truth. A lot of times you may think something wrong happened and it didn't.

For instance, at your regular ortho appointments, I am sure they change the ties, sometimes redo the wire, go over instructions, the Dr. takes a look. But, when mom asks what they did...I bet you say "nothing". Again, perception.

Also, the teeth numbering in ortho is different than in general dentistry. So, double check that it is indeed the wrong tooth before you accuse.

When you go back to the ortho, they will know if the wrong tooth was removed by the general dentist.
Children have no rights. Sorry. You can't sue.
SUE HIM FOR ALL HE IS WORTH!! seriously that is ridiculous!! Did you notice that he was pulling out the wrong tooth? Or were you unconcience? Your story has really got me upset because it is careless people like him that cause normal people like us so much pain and drama and money loss! That is seriously horrible! I'm so sorry! My best advice, is get a lawyer together include EVERYTHING even the prescription part! Good luck and don't worry, justice is on your side on this one.
Sue them... In any lawsuit you can sue for as much as you want but if it's to outrageous you wont win. Sue for the cost of the first pulling and the cost of the second, plus the cost of getting the first one fixed and lawyer fees and if you have a job the cost of the pay you missed out on because of the pain. With the average cost of all that today you could get anywhere from $200 to $700 thousand dollars.
There's not much you can do. Your orthodontist if it isn't your dentist (hopefully not) can fix things with your teeth. I had many teeth pulled for braces, and my mouth looks just fine.
Have your mother call an attorney today. Absolutely you can sue. He pulled the wrong tooth! That is called dental negligence.
