Is it normal to not have stitches put in after wisdom tooth removal?

Question:
I just had my #1 tooth (right wisdom tooth) removed today. I am reading all this info about stitches on-line, but I did not have any put in. My tooth had already grown all the way in and was perfectly straight (it had gotten chipped on a chicken bone and was too small to cap). Is that why I wasn't given stitches?

Answers:
All 4 of my wisdom teeth were impacted and wrapped around nerves. None of my sockets required stitches either. I'm pretty sure that nowadays, with the advanced medical technologies, the incisions are so small that stitches are not needed. And thank goodness for that!
its ok. All 4 of mine grew in all the way and none of them needed stitches after being pulled. You usually get stitches if they were surgically removed.
You will only be given stitches if you run the risk of having dry socket (it hurts) but this will only happen if they had to remove the tooth from the bone and did not crush the bone properly.
I don't put stitches 90% of the time.

All in all, it is better most of the time.
