They usually only hurt when you get them tightened. I would say maybe for a day or two they are sore. Try tylenol or advil for any pain. I also remember that it hurt to bite down on food. Eat soft foods until the soreness goes away. It's not something you can't deal with. I don't remember having pain at night or anything. Just remember it's all worth it when they come off and your teeth are so pretty and straight. Hope this info helps you.
it hurts im not going to lie get origel and advil i eat mashed potatoes and apple sase for a few days after
not as much as people say, but it can be tender when you eat - my friend actually put her pizza in the blender! anywho, the attention can be fun (aww you poor thing :) )

when u first get them, all u can eat its applesauce and smoothies 4 a couple of days.
then when u get them tightened, ur back on that diet 4 a while lol
but once u have had them for a year or so, it gets better.
and MAKE SURE you carry wax with u everywhere because it will become ur best friend lol
it protects your gums from being torn up so u might wanna put it on everynight before u go to bet until your mouth gets use to it.

you will be sore...take some tylenol before you get them on and it will help. eating the first day or so they will be sore but its ok and normal. food will constantly get stuck in your braces thats normal too.
I have had them twice just eat soft foods for the first week than you will feel better
don't worry! I got my braces in 4th grade, and it doesn't really hurt. Basically, you just feel pressure, and while you eat, it will be uncomfortable and tender for like a week. Don't worry!
mine didnt hurt. it gets annoying having a tube in your mouth stuck in one place sucking out your spit though. your going to have a little bit of a sore mouth, but its tenderness more than real pain. you barely notice it if your looking at your bracketed mouth all the time :) maybe im a special case, but they never hurt me too bad. the only thing is, if you have any protruding wires, please dont be stupid like me, ask your orthodontist to clip them. DONT CHEW ON PENS. i did this on my back bracket, and it pulled off, and that, hurts to get fixed. your gums may get a little sore. orajel works perfectly. be careful so you dont need replaced brackets, and your on your way. also, your wires will get stuck to your cheeks, and until you get used to that, it hurts. wear wax, a lot of it. i didnt, and i still have a spot in my cheek a year later. when they do get stuck, gently pull it off, and remember the wax!
yahh it will but only for like 3 days, not to scare u but u will feel like ur jaw is gonna explode lol but it won't, so like ur first days u should eat soups and smashed potatoes and banana milkshakes so u get ur nutrients, every 2 months or so ur gonna get them tightened but it won't hurt as much as ur first time when u get ur braces, trust me u will get used to it, and make sure u brush them every day keep them clean even tough its very hard, cuz if u keep them clean the braces will work better therefore u will get them off sooner, oh and take advil or tylenol ur first time and everytime u get them tightened, and also don't sleep on ur face putting pressure on ur jaw or else u will wake up with a huge pain onur teeth, just think about the results and how u will be able to :)
don't you want to get a nice smile and smile confidently in front of other people without hestitation? the pain that you'll get is worth it. just bare with it for about a year.
oh my god, am so jealous that you gonna get braces soon. i want to get braces, but i can't afford it. everytime when i smile, i have to cover my mouth, which sucks. i hope to use some of my extra money for braces.
It starts to hurt like an hour later. And you will have pain for a few days. It will hurt so bad that you can't even chew! I feel the pain! :(
