I don't have toothache, but half of my face had been swollen for?
Question:
2 days already, half of my face still swollen but had no pain,
the swelling appear to be on a straight line half way from the middle of nose to the back of the ear and down to the jaw . Will that be possible to have tooth decay without pain or do I have some other medical issue, my doc won't have time to see me until tomorrow.
Answers:
It is possible that you are having a serious sinus infection although these are usually painful too. I suggest that you see your dentist tomorrow after the doctor if you don't get any answers to the swelling condition. A dental x ray will determine if it's a tooth abscessing that needs immediate attention. In normal dental cases, pain would be associated with swelling, but not all patients have the same pain threshold. In any case continue with your antibiotics, they may need to increase or change them to clear up this infection. You can also take 800mg of either Motrin or Advil every 6 hours (adult dose) for the inflammation. Good luck and I hope I've been of some help.
maybe you have sinusitis, the sinus (hole) on your face bone is clog with something and it causes swelling on your face, maybe it's not caused by tooth problem
there's a probability that u have medical issue, but for sure, better go to the dentist tomoro
by the way, hos old r u? better take penicillin 3x a day, (6 am, 2 pm and 10 pm) for 7 days...
just take panoramic and cephalograph radiograph in the nearest x ray center and give it to the dentist to identify it
Doesn't sound like a tooth problem, if the whole area of the upper jaw is swollen. I would go to the doctor even though you can't get in until tomorrow. In the meantime try cold washcloth compresses to help bring down the swelling.
