An orthodontist puts the braces on. Their will be a Registered Dental Assistant there also. its not that bad, yes they are gonna be sore and hurt at first but thats only cuz of the wire making ur teeth straight and/or bringing them together. It's ok to be nervious but when your all done you'll be with great looking teeth you'll be glad that you got them.
ur orthodontist should be responsible for applying ur braces!

If your dentist is also an orthodonist then he/she will do it. If you have a seperate orthodontist and dentist then the orthodontist will usually do it. Don't be scared cause it is the beggining of a new smile. Good Luck!
