I am sooooo scared of the dentist and need my wisdoms out!?

Question:
PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR EXPERIENCES, I HAVE MY WISDOMS AND 2 OTHER TEETH THAT NEED TO BE TAKEN OUT, I GO FOR MY CONSULTATION THURSDAY AND AM EVEN SCARED TO GO TO THAT! I KNOW I WILL BE PUT UNDER, BUT I AM FREAKING!

Answers:
nothing to worry about
apart from the squeaking noises it makes when he twists the tooth in your gum or if its impacted you get to have your gum cut open first then stitched up afterwards
had 3 out of four of mine done awake but have decided to leave the last one alone as the dentist has already told me its a hospital stay job as he has to first break my jaw then cut away bone to remove it
methinks ill pass on that one
after the numbness wore off, it was the worst pain i had ever experienced after my first extraction the butcher slipped off the tooth he was taking out and hit the top one above with the pliers - chipping the enamel off - i nearly choked on all the blood the pain woke me up in the middle of the night
all i wanted to do was bang my face off a wall

the second two teeth were removed by another dentist at the dental hospital and were fine but needless to say i swapped my dentist after my first experience
Remember, it would be worse to let your teeth go untreated than just go to the dentist. I hate going to the dentist, but I am no longer scared. If you are truly terrified, ask about sleep dentistry, I think it costs more but at least you won't be awake for it.
i felt like peeing myself. LOL
It's actually not bad. Your dentist should knock you out completely-- you'll get gased and/or injected with an IV so you sleep within 15 seconds. It took my dentist 15 minutes to get all 4 of my teeth taken out, so I would assume that yours won't take long either, along with your other teeth. Most likely you'll have stitches where your wisdom teeth will be pulled, so you won't be able to open your mouth a lot. They'll wake you up as soon as they're done. It took me one day to recover, and a week to fully recover (eating solid food again without the stitches). Good luck, it's not as bad as you think it will be. The sooner, the better!
It wasnt bad at all. My consultation they did Xrays. Thats it really. They determined which ones needed to come out. When I went in for the actual surgery they put in an IV and injected the ansthetics through the IV. I woke up a bit later and it was all done. My husband drove me home and took care of me. The down side is you cant eat much of anything for quite some time. I still have small holes where its healing. You have to pay close attention and clean your mouth alot. The surgery was better than the pain the teeth were putting me through!!
Meet the biggest chicken of them all...me!

I brush and rinse frequently just so that I don't see, hear and smell a dentist's office.

One day, there will be dentists that have offices that will be a real pleasure to visit...with all the bells and whistles that will make it an enjoyable experience, rather than what you are frightened about.

Hasn't happened yet, but I have ideas.

How about a beautful retreat kind of effect, with Mackaws and exotic animals and pleasant sounds and nice scents.

Can be done, but who will be up to the task?

My past experiences with several tooth pullings would make your hair stand up.

Once I had a tooth pulled, and had to walk all the way home in the rain, with a bad report card as well, to be greeted by a mad dad!

I never will forget that experience.

Another time, it took over an hour to pull a tooth, piece by piece...and the dentist had to use every tool, including what looked like a pair of pliers.

You want me to go back to see a dentist now?

No way, Jose!

So, I keep my teeth constantly clean and gargle often with listerine...even brush with listerine...and I don't have any real serious problems with them anymore.

Use of garlic will also help clean your gumbs, just make sure you brush hard and often and keep your breath smelling nice...because bad breath can also lead to tooth decay.

Do all this, and forget the dentist, like I have.

I can't be bothered with a sorry place like a dentist's office.

..and thanks for a great question!
I'm laughing cause you sound as bad as me. When I went to my consultation all they do is say open up and look and decide yes or no in regards to if they need to be removed.

When I was walking back to the room to actually have my 4 teeth out a week later, I told my friend "What the %$#* am I doing walking back here freely??" I was in a panic. I was really scared of being put under and everything. They started an IV and then injected the "medicine" and I was out instantly. I actually woke up during the procedure but didn't feel a thing and they gave me another shot and I was out again quickly. My friend said it only took like 15 minutes. Honestly it wasn't bad. I was eating soup that night. Just have urself a cold drink at home with a straw!

You will be fine. IT was the most painless thing I ever went through.
