Toothache...automatic root canal?

Question:
Well my molars filling came out a little while ago and now it hurts. I've had a root canal before becuase i waited too long to get another tooth filled again and it kind of feels like that. It just started hurting on friday and i was wondering if it's too late?

Answers:
No, it is not always necessary to have a root canal procedure performed if you have a toothache. Sometimes if a filling 'falls out', it can just be replaced after preparing the tooth for the new filling.

If there's any decay, and it has gone into your pulp chamber (the pain can be severe), that would warrant a root canal procedure.

Try not to wait too long to have the tooth checked out.

Good Luck!
