Question:
I recently have started taking the antiobiotics docycycline 100 mg and my gums have been hurting a lot. Its too painful to even floss and they bleed. I have never had problems with my gum in my life and I brush and floss daily. Could the antibiotics be the reason why my gums hurt?
Answers:
might be gingivitius... its an infection in your gums... go see a dentist or start swishing with listerine.
But then again it might be the pills...
get off it and see a doctor
If you have never had problems with your gums then mostly likely it is the antibiotics. Talk to the doctor that prescribed the medicine and then your dentist
Asking your doctor about it is the solution. Perhaps it's because the prescription is working on your gums, that's why it have become very sensitive. Consult your doctor about alternatives or new medications for it. Good luck!
