Answers:
Sarah - if you look at the ingredients on most tooth whitening products you will notice that the whitening agent in most of them is HYDROGEN PEROXIDE.
To easily and effectively (and inexpensively) whiten your teeth, just use hydrogen peroxide in place of your regular mouthwash. Every morning and evening after brushing and flossing use Hydrogen Peroxide as your mouth wash. You can buy hydrogen peroxide (3% in the brown bottle) at your local drugstore for about $1 for a 16 ounce bottle. Mix ½ ounce hydrogen peroxide with ½ ounce hot water and swirl in your mouth for about 1 minute. Spit out (DO NOT SWALLOW) and then rinse your mouth out several times with cool water. One $1 bottle will last you about 2 weeks so for about $26/year (less than one box of tooth whitening strips) you can whiten your teeth.
In addition to whitening your teeth, hydrogen peroxide kills the bacteria in your mouth that cuases bad breath and cavities.
Crest Whitening Strips are awesome! :)
And now they have the 5 minute a day ones to help maintain. :)
Best wishes!
