Answers:
lol. this is a good question! Im getting braces too!! well for one you shouldnt get the porcelin ones they do stain like if you drink red juice they turn pinkish from the coloring. Um...well about the colors if your getting regular ones...you can change the colors so i wouldnt really worry about that because you can change it up, but you shouldnt get black. Black makes your teeth look yellowish. You should focus more on light colors, because they make your teeth look lighter. gud luck =] and just remember to relax and dont get nervous
Well, you can can change the colors anytime you go in (if you're getting normal braces, that is.) like school colors, fav colors, etc. But the light pink ones make your gums look the pinkest and healtiest, so I'd recommend that.
i had braces for 2 & 1/2 years. the regular ones. and i always had the grey/silverish rubber bands so it wasn't distracting. i didn't want to draw anymore attention to my mouth. my advice to you is to take care of them very well. listen to the instructions of your orthodontist. if he wants you to wear rubber bands for your bite - do so. listening will shorten the time you have them on for. although, the food restrictions are ridiculous (such as no bagels, popcorn, candy, gum, soda, etc). one thing i had a problem with was the brackets coming unglued. hmm let's see - don't forget to floss inbetween your braces and use special mouthwash for people with braces. your orthodontist might suggest or reccomend a certain brand. also, your mouth will be painful the first two weeks you get them on. so be careful with what you eat. good luck :)
