I got around $1 but that was 15 years ago. I mean geeze...the economy is booming now, so you might as well give him a $10 these days!...honestly...if you start too high, you will only have to go higher.

for the first tooth...five dollars, then a dollar per tooth. if it had a big cavity, only 50 cents..(so they'll take better care of their adult teeth)..i didn't get that much, but inflation over the years has caused the tooth fairy to pay out a little more. :)

I'd say .25-.50 only because you don't want them to thin they are going to get rich of off their teeth. Kids don't care about money. We gave my nephew .25 for each tooth and after they were all gone he got to buy a small toy for being so brave about it.

When I was young I got fifty to seventy five cents and that would be enough to buy 4-5 candy bars or one medium size ice cream cone. So I would use that same scale. A candy bar costs less than $1 so I would recommend something on the order of $3-$4. It also depends on how wealthy you are. If your daughter has some expensive toys then she is going to expect more for that tooth. If you are from a more modest economic situation then her expectations will be smaller.

in our family of 6, the tooth fairy left $1.00 for each tooth and $5.00 for a molar. that way as they got older they got a little more. Kid number 6 will get lucky if the fairy even remembers to leave anything, she seems to be forgetting to visit and kid # 4 is getting mad. The tooth fairy has been so tired lately she has been falling asleep before the kids!
