I am going to have my wisdom teeth removed...Please HELP?

Question:
Okay I am just sooooo scared to do the whole surgery thing. I know it will be painless but the surgeon has to do a incision on my gum to get to the wisdom teeth, and that really freaks me out, so anyone who had experience with wisdom teeth removal, please give me some advice that will help me through this process. And one more thing, how do they apply the local anesthesia?

Answers:
I had my wisdom done and I had general anesthesia. Piece of cake. Seriously, the dentist put a small mask over my face told me to count backwards from 10 - I think I remember getting to 7. Woke up - procedure was done. Very little pain and went home. It was scary for me to then cause I had never had anything like it done before but its really is a simple thing to have done.
It will be fine. It's what's taking place in your imagination of the event that is scary, not the thing itself. Trust me, as a veteran of oral surgeries: You'll be fine.
I just had a wisedom tooth pulled by an oral surgern no problem with a local anesthesia shot as they paint t5he gum with a numbing solution before giving the shot
Yeah I had to have my gum cut to have one of my wisdom teeth pulled.
I just had all of mine pulled at the dentist, mouth frozen with needles, like when they fill a cavity.
For me the needles were about the worst part, because I don't enjoy needles in my mouth. You'll be sore for a few days after. It's not that bad. Your mouth heals really quick.
My wisdom teeth were badly impacted, and they had to be 'cut out'. It really sucked because they were under so much pressure from being so tight. It was a relief to get them out. It was of course sore but the pressure being relieved was great. Then I had to get braces to correct my bite. Thats another story. The anesthesia is given as a shot. They can put some topical (rub on) before you get the shot. Ask for it and they take care of it for you. Believe me you WILL feel better when you are done.
When my wisdom teeth were removed they gave me the anesthesia through an intervenus. They ran it through the veins in the top of my hand. There is not a whole lot of advice to give you. The anesthesia works fast. You will be knocked out before you know it.next thing you know your waking up. Trust me...don't panic or get too worried. It's a pretty easy thing if you just talk yourself down.
