Getting Your Braces Off?
Question:
Answers:
its really nothing... it seem like it gonna hurt but its not, they just put that thing that opens ur mouth wide in and kinda break them off, then they buff to get the glue of which is jus like being at the dentist, just make sure u have all the glue of cause they can miss spots
well it is very painful they first use pliers to snip them apart and th rest is a blur
it's not to bad, it doesn't hurt at all! all they really do is take out the wires, pluck the squares off your teeth( doesn't hurt), and grind all the cement off your teeth, doesn't hurt either, if anything it's all going to be a relief. It really does feel great when you get them off. then they make a model of your mouth for your retainer if they haven't yet. good luck!! =)
Getting your braces off is a little weird at first depending on how long you've had them. I got mine late in life. I was 29 and the doctor used something like plyers to get them metal off of the tooth. It was totally worth it. The one thing I was always doing was running my tongue across my teeth because it was so wonderful that they were straight for the first time in 19 years. I was also smiling like an idiot a lot because having really crooked teeth held me back from smiling.
Good luck and WEAR THAT RETAINER!!!
when i went it wasn't painful at all
first they use a thing like a hole punch to take off the brackets
then they scrape your teeth to get the glue off
then polish them a bit and your done!
its awesome
omg..i had mines remove about a year ago..to be honest..it just hurts a little bit when they cut between each bracket..and then you feel normal..your lips feel the same...good luck..oh and there shouldnt be pain after that:D
While they were taking them off, it was pretty uncomfortable, and sometimes painful, but after they were off, my teeth felt slimy lol (kind of like how it feels when they take off the bar that attacjes to your bracets).congrats though :)
i got mine off a year ago.
it feels a whole lot lighter. a good feeling. lol. i miss mine sometimes. hahah.
you have to wear retainers after tho, but please be sure to wear them. they may look dorky and they may not. they wont hurt if ure use to them, but its worth it. if you dont wear them for a long time and put them on again it will hurt.
id wear them. i did, but i got lazy and stopped. dont follow
my foot steps. my teeth are still alined but people are different.
it defeats the purpose of braces and plus you dont want ur
teeth going back to where they were in the first place.
it's a brazze when they come off, way faster and easier and
it doesnt hurt a bit from what i remember when i got mine off.
it feels cool and slippery against your tongue when you feel them.
haha. yeah.
:)
Braces, yuck! I remember those days. I am almost 30 years old, but I can still recall the 3 and 1/2 years that I wore braces. No worries! You managed to get them on and have them tighten on a regular basis. Getting them off is not much different. They take the wire out and pop the brackets off. The longest part is when then try to scrape the glue off of your teeth. And, your teeth will be a bit sore for about a week, similar to when your braces were tightened.
Best advice I can give to you: WEAR YOUR RETAINER! My orthrodontist told me that I had to wear it until I was 40 years old and I laughed. He was NOT kidding. Your teeth will move if you don't wear your retainer. (When you get older it's okay to wear it at night).
Hope this helps. Good luck! :)
It actually feels really good. It doesn't really hurt, but when they take the brackets off they kinda tug a little. After they get everything off, it feels really weird, but cool. You'll probably think your teeth look really big, because all my friends and me too all thought our teeth looked huge, but you'll feel like you look better in a couple hours. So.good luck?
It doesn't hurt one bit. I got my braces off about a year ago. It feels a lot different. If you brushed your teeth good when you had your braces on, everything should go smoothly. The first thing they do is take of the color bands, if you had them, then they take off the wire, like just like when you get a new wire in, then they take off the square bracket. After all that, they polish your teeth because they have the glue that held your brackets on. They also take a new impression of your teeth for your retainer. Just relax and everything should go fine.
when i got mine off 1 1/2 yrs ago, it didnt really hurt just a little pressure on ur teeth
she took the bands off and then took like pliers or something and pulled the brackets off and scrapped the glue off and smoothed the bottom of my teeth and made my retainer
its pretty easy and then the retainer took half an hour to make but was there for less than an hour
good luck
I get mine off soon too!! I'm nervous also!! Go us!
