Drugs and the dentist?
Question:
Answers:
You said your teeth are sensitive, but are they painful too? Could be several reasons as to why your teeth are sensitive. Would need a bit more info..
If your teeth are bothering you please don't let your past get in the way of seeking dental care. It wouldn't be the first time and it won't be the last that a patient has seen a dentist with a previous drug history. Dentists can tell lots by looking in a patients mouth by the condition of your teeth and gums. Smoking, medications, illnesses and even when a female is menstruating and I am sure there are other things too that have an effect on teeth and gums. I don't know of anything that would tell us specificaly that a person was using specific drugs (non prescription).
If it is a cavity then you need to see your dentist. If infected and left untreated the bacteria can go into your bloodstream and then go to your heart and could be deadly. If just a straight forward cavity then they can fill it. If a cavity is too deep and is into the nerve then a root canal, and crown will be needed and possably a post too.
Most likely no. The sensitivity could be from a number of things. I doubt his first assumption would be that you are/were a drug user.
Yes, I often do. :) with few years of experience. But don't worry, we only try to fix your problem not creating more. So please visit your dentist soon. And please stop using drug.
