What can I do about my receding gum on one tooth?

Question:
Hi, I'm still in my teen years and I am starting to freak out because I noticed that there is a small cut on one of my upper teeth and that it had receded! It's swollen and it' gets sensitive when I eat. I believe it's because I brush my teeth with too much force.

I told my mother about it and she said not to worry beacuse it will heal. I don't really believe her.

I don't know if it can go away. I think I'm too young to already be developing receding gums or anything like that. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. I just don't know what to do. Thanks.

Answers:
It sounds like you brush too hard, and maybe with the wrong brush, you should use a soft bristle brush. You can rinse your mouth with warm salt water to help it heal. and your mom is right, it will heal, your mouth is one of the fastest areas on your body to heal. try to stay away from it with the brush for a few days to give it a chance. hope this helps !
As a general dentist, I would recommed you to see your dentist and figure out why!
