Mouth wash and toothpaste.?

Question: I want to make homemade mouth wash, i am thinking about mixing water with toothpaste. Do you think thats a bad thing?

i dont think that would work...my dentist told me that wetting my toothbrush when it has toothpaste on it before i brush my teeth will lessen the effect of the toothpaste by a lot...so i can only imagine that mixing it with water will make the toothpaste useless
