Its a personal thing. You will get responses from ant-fluoride people as well as pro-fluoride people. I believe fluoride is beneficial for the developing teeth, however, studies have been shown that fluoride is only absorbed by the exposed teeth rather than systemically. If you want, you can check with your Paediatrician and find out the correct dosage of fluoride drops that can be added to a jug of water for when baby gets some teeth. Avoid sugary drinks in the bottle and try Rooibos tea, it contains natural fluoride and is safe to give to infants cold. Most health food stores stock it - I grew up on it! see the site below for more info http://africantea.com/rooibos-health/roo...
Dentist surrounded by Atlanta Area?
most likely , because the towns water most likely had fluoride in it, your bottled H20 does not.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO - that mineral goes right to the little tummy, barely touching teeth or gums. Give baby spring water or filtered drinking water. No additives, no distillation.
Your baby does not need flouride. Most bottled water comes from the local water system (hate to break it to you..) and goes through another filtering process before bottling, so even if you are using bottled water to prepare baby cereal, etc., your baby is getting enough.
Has anyone had the TMJ Syndrome surgery?
Maybe. You need to ask your ped, but most bottled H2O doesn't have fluoride. That being said there is a large school of thought that flouride isn't good for children as long as they have excellent nutrition. I would talk to your pediatrician.
Is it really bad to swallow toothpaste?
I would say no, but please consult your pediatrician or a pedodontist. Remember, children can start seeing a pedodontist as soon as their first tooth comes in =)
