It takes 7-10 days for them to heal. You should be taking at least an over-the counter medication for cold sores- go to any drugstore, and look in the cold aisle.
see a doctor. I think all cold sore meds for inside the mouth are for prescription only, but not sure. If you have more than one then i would definately go see a doc. I wouldnt use abreva in your mouth. It might be harmful.
cold sores develop mainly because of poor dental hygiene (not that i'm accusing you or anything...). One sure way to get rid of 'em is to gargle a solution of water+salt for 5 days, 3x a day and stay away from chili & sour tasting foods as well as too hot or too cold beverages...hope that helps!
well cold sores are from bacterias so put lemons on them sour stuff will make them disolve
I have this problem often and I have really good dental hygiene. My dentist and doctor BOTH told me it's not caused by that. My dr. tells me that it is caused by a virus and there really is no way to cure them. He won't even prescribe me a medicine for them due to the fact that he said there is nothing out there that will get rid of them for you. He said they just take time to heal. He just told me to avoid any salty foods and any acidic foods. They just take time to heal and I feel for ya hun cuz I know how bad they hurt and how yucky you feel when you have them. Good luck and I hope they are gone before ur girl comes to see you :) Oh I almost forgot another thing he told me to do is put some maalox in ur mouth and swish it around and the spit it out..It coats them and prevents them from stinging and getting more irritated..
I get cold sores about once a year. I really dont like them so i use abreva. Its a cream you put on your cold sore and you apply it every so often. it ussually clears them up in about 3 days
