How long do I have to wait before she can get some treatment. I need a second opinion- the dentist says to wait at least a year and a half--something about molars. Any orthodontists out there?

Go to an Orthodontist. She probably has to wait but it would be wise if an Orthodontist monitors her jaw growth which is usually every 4-6 months and is usually free.
You should wait until her molars grow in. and she loses her teeth. If you have braces with baby teeth, then the adult teeth still grow in crooked.
It would be best to wait until she loses her baby teeth.
