Does anyone have a procedure for disposal of dry ice after receiving goods packed in the stuff?

We are receiving medicines packed in dry ice and need to dispose of it afterwards

You can put water on it to make a cool "Adams Family" looking heavy cloud.

WARNING dry ice is CO2 and toxic always let it evaporate in a well ventiated area ESPECIALLY if you heat it e.g. with water.

I usually just let it evaporate on my back porch, it is just carbon dioxide. Just make sure no young kids around so they don't burn themselves trying to play with it.
