How much money does it usually cost for root canal, i have extreme pain in one tooth while eating?

Question:
i'm pretty sure its the nerve, i've had my teeth hurt before but never any pain like this, the tooth is pretty much damaged so i guess it will have to be pulled and get a root canal. i have no insurance so i will be paying cash, but i need an idea of how much money it might take. i haven't been to dentist in many years.

Answers:
It can cost anywhere from $300 to $2000 depends on who you go to. Dentists price their services mainly on their location so you'll pay more if you're going to the ritzier part of town. it's cheaper if you go to a general dentist but not all general dentists can do all root canals if you need to go to a specialist you'll pay alot more.
it can range from 500-1000 . each dr has different fees plus you will need a crn on the tooth after having a rct. and that is about the same fees . take motrin to help with pain good luck
I am having this same probablem except I actually broke the tooth too. I need to have a crown and a post and a root canal and I was quoted at $3000. (no insurance) If by chance, you live in NY, you can get a dental plan that can help to lower the cost of the procedure. I bought a plan at dentalplans.com and it made things a little cheaper, but not much. It saved me only about $200 so far, but at least I get 2 visits to the dentist every 6 months for free. (I used to pay $175 each visit, plus x-rays, fluride, etc) Call around to find the best price and sometimes the doctors will work with you since you don't have insurance. Hope that helps.
