Can i eat sweets with my braces?
I was told not to eat boiled sweets or sugery foods while i have my braces ( i got the last week) but is it okay to have as long as i just suck on them and not chew? Also is it okay to have fizzy drinks if i have them with a straw? I hardly ever eat sweets and fizzy drinks but its nice to have them now and again! thanks for all the answers

I would not chew annything chewy, Sweets and sodas are okay every once in a while as long as you brush your teeth right after!

How can i get the stains off my teeth if i smoke?
I just recently had my braces removed - and was able to eat/drink anything I wanted. It's just important that you brush your teeth often to prevent the sugar from getting into nooks that weren't there before. The only things I would suggest is that you stay away from really tacky, sticky foods, like caramels - and anything that has the potential to break your brackets (like crunching into an apple - cut it up to eat it).
Has anyone had their canines shaved blunt?
I have braces and not having sugar is a load of crap. You can have soft drinks, candy, (except starburst and licorice) as long as you just brush your teeth twice a day. My dentist said, "Oh wow you've been staying away from sugar haven't you?" but really I've been having a lot of sugar. If your braces go across all your molars then sticky stuff can pull them off but if they stop at your first molar like mine do I chew gum and starbursts and stuff.

Yes you can, but I would not recommend it. I had braces before and I was eating m&m and then I noticed that something fell off which happen to be one of my brackets. The reason why I said I would not recommend it is, because when a bracket falls off it will cost you more to put a new one on.

Can chew anything not so hard to break them, not too soft to get a sticky smile. Sugar is yes coke and coffee are big no's. You won't regret it!
