I'm sick and have an abcessed tooth... are these two related?
I am 21 years old and have an abcessed molar. It was a baby tooth that I never had a permant tooth under and because of that I had it crowned last year to make it look normal... well now my tooth is abcessed and I have never had a cavity in my life (I blame this mostly on my dentist). Either way, after talking to many oral surgeons and endodrintics (spell?) my only option is an implant. I am not have my tooth extracted until mid-August and my doctor said she wasn't going to put me on any meds. Well I have been sick since May and around the same time I had a pocket appear on my gums to help release the infection from my tooth. Could what is being released and infecting my tooth also be making me sick? I had a sinus infection for over a month in June and have felt like crap for a long time. Any advice from anyone who has ever been in this situation or heard or someone who has? Any doctors that know if I should be on meds or not?? Help please!! Thank you.
how can i get rid of a kankersore?
Answers:
Your 'only option' is NOT an implant... you can have a 'three-unit permanent bridge' made instead.
Get in to see your dentist again... sounds like you need another round of antibiotics. and if they can't help you, a trip to your physician may be in order.

i am not a doc, but it sounds like you need some antibiotics! If you can't get someone to give you meds, then keep it very clean and use a water pick everyday. There is also an alternative way to get the infection out - go to the health food store and get powder clay (food grade that you can put in your mouth) and castor oil. You mix them together and make a little clump of the clay - dry the area with a paper towel as best you can and then stick the clay clump on the abscessed tooth for 10 minutes. Then remove and spit out all the clay and wipe clean. Repeat a few times a day and see if it feels better. This should help get the infection out.
