Is it possible to home treat pocket within gums?
I have a wide pocket (I'm not sure of the correct term)between my teeth that food gets trapped into adjectives the time....
Large pieces get stuck surrounded by there (imagine partially a chocolate chip), and I have to really work complicated with floss to acquire it out - so they haven't been soothing because I have to lash them up basically everyday to return with debris out of at hand....
I got an oral b vim and vigour toothbrush - which I love, and floss daily, and use crest prohealth rinse....is in attendance anyway this thing is ever going to close (its be a few months)?
Is there anything else I should be doing?
My dentist said I would own to take dental floss and Knot it several times to seize that junk out of here - and uh, just the perception of that pains me too much to try.....(and then I lost my insurance, so I didn't know where on earth else to ask!).
Advice and suggestions appreciated.
Thanks all - Be all right - Peace
I have quest ion about my son of two years old milk teeth.?
Answers: Sounds like an extremely huge pocket for half a choc chip to fit. Normal pocket size is 3mm...something that substantial and that wide indicates severe inflammation, adequate to indicate perio surgery. For the long term solution, perio surgery would be needed, to help out avoid any other problems (ie bone loss (can't grow bone back), tooth mobility, etc). You would either want (1) pocket reduction surgery near a deep scale or (2) gum reduction surgery.
For the instant solution, i would recommend purchasing something called a gum stimulator. It can be found within most drugstores (maybe even your dentist's office). Its shaped with a rubber cone that can be in motion in b/w teeth and into your pockets to back remove debris.
To for always treat the problem , you should visit a periodontist( specialized dentist who treat gingival disease).
He may do pocket let-up by performing a minor surgery (gingivectomy and root currettage)in the concerned area. Healing is uneventful and usually not complicated. Furthermore it is not a exceedingly complicated surgery and minor L.A is required.
