Lets see I'm 12 now and I have braces twice. The first time for like almost 2 years when i was like in third grade and the second time was the summer before I was going into 6th grade and I got them off in May of this year. Also, before I ahd braces for the first time I had a retainer and now I have a retainer again.

I have had braces TWICE. Once at 15, and once at 31. At 15 I didn't mind them. But my teeth moved dramatically in my 20's...to the point of causing bad jaw problems. Got braces again and truly hated them as an adult.
I wore braces in 5th & 6th grades & a retainer (full time) thru 9th grade. I had a severe overbite & was teased unmercifully about it. I am having my wisdom teeth removed in October & will need braces (probably Invisalign) for 6-8 months until the gums heal & the rest of my teeth settle (I am 45 years old)
I haven't had braces yet, but I really need them.
I actually got pretty lucky with my teeth. My parents both have straight teeth, so maybe it is genetics, but I never had to have braces. My teeth are very straight (i guess it looks like I may have). Luckier, I have never had a cavity.
My bad luck was I had to have all four wisdom teeth yanked (not impacted, I just didn't have enough room for them)

i have braces right now and will for 4 years. i had gaps from my pacifier when i was smaller. i also have a thing called a herbst. i have it for a really bad overbite but nody can tell your wearing it. :]

yeah..i had to wear braces for about two years and got them off this march. now i am stuck wearing retainers hah.
I had braces for about TEN years!! They took them away for my 15th birthday but then put them right back
