I am getting braces!?
I have some questions:
Does it hurt?
What type of braces show they least, and how much are they?
My son have especially red swollen gums?
Answers:
Braces hurt a lot. Especially in the beginning. Whenever you go to the orthodontist to get your braces tightened, they will feel really sore. Sometimes they metal rubs up against the inside of your mouth, and that hurts too. The type of braces that show the least are the kind that are very expensive and easily breakable. Most orthodontists won't let kids get them. They are clear and removable. But some kids do get them, so whatever your orthodontist suggests for you, is probably best.
a couple thousand and you are going to get metal kind no matter what. the clear is more expensive and yes, it will hurt for a day or so. and then when they tighten them

Who else have filling within their teeth?
I just got my braces about two months ago. You're mouth will feel a little sore from pressure for about 3 days after they put them on, but other than that it doesn't hurt. I got the clear brackets. The clear ones are the least noticeable, but they usually only put them on the top teeth because they aren't as strong as the full metal ones. The clear ones are a little more expensive, but I don't remember how much they were.
hiya. i got my braces free!!(wonders of NHS!!) i got them at 13 and wore them a good 4-5 years, even after my teeth had been corrected i was still told to wear them! anyway, normally at first they fit fixed braces on u, whuch hurt at first especially when the metal bits rub on the insides, but they gave me mint candle wax, which was lovely to put over! u can choose wat colour bands u want over the metal too, and evetually u get onto removable braces, which are good to play around with! smile!! they dont hurt THAT much! :)))))))))))
The metal ones are a couple thousand and the clear ones are way more expensive. And yes, they do hurt. I'm not gonna try and tell you they don't because they do, but it's only for about 3-4 days and when you get them tightened. So just hang in there and it will get better soon.

How do I stop grinding my teeth at night?
Mine were 3k.
They hurt for a day or two.. then your fine.. just stick to meds and soft foods for a while. Do what the dr tells you and it will be great!
ps... now they have braces that are clear on the top and have less metal... they are standard around here... they are less noticable.
