I just got my braces off yesterday and today i got my clear essix retainers. my top one fit just fine and the?
bottom one fit on one side good but one the other side it won't fit onto to my back teeth it's like it's passing the back teeth and it's hurting my gums. my gums are still swollen is that the problem

I had the exact problem, except mine was on the top retainer, but I just ignored the pain and in about a day I was used to the retainer. I'm not sure, but I think it was because they were still swollen, so just keep it in so you will get used to it and it should stop hurting soon; if not, I'd call your dentist.

You should bring this up to your dentist / orthodontists attention to make sure the retainer was made correctly.
In the meantime, to get your gums unswollen, gargle with warm water and salt. Tastes nasty but that same solution is what helped me when I got my braces off.
You should tell your orthodantist. He'll fix it for you.
it might just be beacuse they are still swollen or they shifted a little im not sure though. just make an appointment with your ortho. so the problem doesnt get any worse.
