Ok, here is the deal...?
tomorrow my sister and i are both getting spacers at 8:00 in the morning. then at 2:30 we have to go get our teeth cleaned. next up, then on sunday we have to be at the airport because our mom and brother are coming back from scotland.tuesday we are going to get our braces then 2 days later we are going out of town. so we both have a very busy schuelde so we dont know how to deal with the pain of the braces.. we were told by our cousins to take asprin before we go to the orthodontist. is there any advice you could give to us to help with the pain or to sike ourselves out? we are going to be in pain tomorrow morning then to top it all off we have to have some guy with big hands in our mouth with a bunch of tools to clean our teeth. please, we need all kinds of tips you could ever give us. please help.

Getting spacers in your teeth doesnt really hurt, it just feels like you have something stuck in your teeth. When I got my braces they didnt hurt it was just a little uncomfortable. I dont think you would really need to take anything for pain because its really not as bad as people say ( at least in my experience). I expected it to hurt soooo bad from what my friends told me, then when I went to get them I was so surprised because it didnt even hurt a bit.
How do you get rid of canker sores? Are they contagious?
Take some advil and go to bed.
I had braces and didnt have any pain relief, you will be too busy to not notice the pain
dont eat solid food tho it is painful to eat solids

well my spacers hurt like hell. i took some ibuprofen but it didnt help much. but when i first got my braces they actually weren't that sore. i didnt even need to take meds for them, but maybe thats just me.

Taking aspirin before will help. I had spacers once, but I don't remember them hurting, but that was a few years ago. The braces don't hurt when they are being put on, but you're mouth will feel sore for a few days after. Just take aspirin in the morning and it should feel fine throughout the day. Try to stay clear from really hard food, and cut you're food into small bites, so that its easier to chew and doesn't hurt as much. I've only had my braces for 2 months. I was reluctant to get them because I was worried about it hurting, but its really not bad. The whole thing will be worth it when you get them off and have nice straight teeth.
I have to get to wisdom teeth out will it hurt?
oooo...spacers do hurt but it depends how close together your molars are.if they're not that close that the spacers wont really hurt.if they're very close than i do suggest taking aspirin before like your cousins said (make sure its okay with your dentist though) and after the spacers (when the aspirin wears off and its okay to take another dose) take it again and go to sleep. dont eat hard foods that you need to bite.mostly soops and soft chicken that is tender and cut into small pieces. if you grid your teeth at night and you have spacers its really going to hurt and you will wake up in the middle of the night with pain so just ask your dentist about it and he can maybe do something to fix the situation...if he cant what i did was i put tissue paper in my mouth at night so that it wouldnt hurt when i grinded my teeth and it really helped (its a little weird but it helped the pain..after the spacers nothing hurts you're teeth in the braces proccess...the braces dont hurt and tightening them either.hope this helps.

What is the policy for a hygenist if...?
Maybe it was just a really long time ago, but my spacer really didn't hurt. But you could be different, so if it does, just take painkillers and don't talk a lot. The only painful part was coming out with spit all over my face and a cotton ball in my mouth as I talked to my mom and some cute kid stared at me.
