I am using a clean cotton balls instead of strile gauzes.?
I got a tooth extraction about 24 hours ago and I am using clen cotton balls because I ran out of the gauzes that the dentist gave me. Are the cotton balls going to help/not help aiding? Will I get an infection in the extraction site? please help.

Stop using the cotton balls and switch to a wet tea bag if you're still oozing. If not, don't use anything.

while I'm no DR ,I will tell you that if the cotton balls are sterile then it ' should be okay,
however the gauze helps soak up more of the blood so you wont swallow it.
As well as keep the place cleaned!
Just keep changing them evey lil bit as the are needed and i think it will be alright.
If you have any complications then call your denist or ER !

PS yeah ! the first answer is correct use a wet tea bag they are good for that!
