What should I do about my teeth?

Personally, I would rather go through the temporary pain of taking out wisdom teeth so I could keep the molars. Plus they give you nifty drugs to help with the pain.
I got the four molars out but then ended up having my wisdom teeth out anyway! I thought the whole point of me getting the molars out was to avoid that, but it didn't work out that way.
Get the teeth pulled now. I did...and my wisdom teeth came in perfectly and did not have to be pulled at all.
I haven't had braces but I did have all four wisdom teeth cut out because they were causing me pain. I suggest not having the molars taken out mainly because if your wisdom teeth cause you discomfort you can just have them out at a later date, if they do indeed come through. not everyones do. if your mum or dads didnt chances are yours wont either. However your orthodontist does know what he's talking about and he is a professional.
If you get your molars pulled now, you should have enough space in your mouth for the wisdom teeth when they do come in. If there is the proper amount of space, there should be no reason to pull the wisdom teeth.
I have had all 4 of my widom teeth cut out and one molar pulled. I was under general anesthesia for my wisdom teeth so I did not feel a thing. I only had some discomfort of my jaw for a day or two after. When I had my molar pulled, they used a local anesthetic but it hurt a lot. I had to ask for pain meds afterwards. You should try to talk to your parents and your dentist to discuss all options. The type of anesthesia really makes a difference with pain, so consider what type you will be getting for each procedure. Hope this helps.
getting teeth pulled doesn't even hurt -- they put so much novacaine -- you don't even know. . .just close your eyes and pretend you are on the beach. . .
get the wisdom teeth out .. . I got 3 out of 4 out -- the last one has root problems (they are abnormally long and resting on a nerve) so they can't pull it. . .
Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years and I think you have misunderstood the Orthodontist. The four teeth he wants our for the braces are PRE-molars that are behind the canines. This is to pull the teeth into the spaces and make them look straight and beautiful. No one pulls 1st molars for braces. Second, you will need your wisdom teeth out at a later date to keep them from kicking your front teeth out.
Each case is different. The treatment plan that is right for one person, may not be right for another. If you have a small mouth and a high arch, he wants you to look fabulous, but you have too much tooth. So the pre-molars have to go. This is so common you have no clue. Most of my patients have the pre-molars taken out and then the braces. THEN the wisdom teeth after they begin to come in or become painful. So take it easy. This is very common and we do it all the time. Relax, don't worry and just look forward to a great smile and beautiful teeth for a lifetime!! Marie
